I wrote this song with the incredible Jacob Kotler over this past year and half. We grew up in neighboring towns with mutual friends, but never knew each other well until we reconnected through a virtual book club at the start of the pandemic.

We were each trying to write music during lockdown, and each looking to collaborate. Jacob sent me a clip of this etherial, dark trippy tune he’d been working on. I wrote the first verse and chorus in 10 minutes; something clicked instantly with this song in a way that I knew was really special.

Through the next 17 months of FaceTime calls, listening sessions, losing stems, finding stems, re recording vocals, watching so many YouTube videos, and some serious life changes for both of us, a great fucking song emerged, created by two people in different cities who haven’t seen each other in years. We’ve both grown so much as artists and I couldn’t be more thankful to have shared that experience with J.

This song is triumph, fear, vulnerability, ego, anger, confidence, honesty. Thank you for listening.
